SAGE is a robust, multi-stage referral program specifically designed for clients of the 482 Collective who have demonstrated a readiness to work towards a safer, healthier future for themselves and their children.
The program removes barriers and provides equitable access to mental health supports and valuable life skills. SAGE harnesses the collective wisdomof acommunity of experts – psychologists, financial guides, parenting coaches, nutritionists, and more – to help survivors navigate the complex challenges of life after violence. Within this healing framework, abuse survivors can safely bounce back, and move confidently towards hope and healing.

How to join our team of experts
We are looking to expand our team of professionals that we refer our clients to in the fields of: Mental health, wellness, parenting, law, finance, lactation, education, nutrition,personal training, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and more.
Successful candidates must be:
independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Join our team of experts Contribute your time and professional expertise in a volunteer or paid capacity
Psychologists Provide mental health support directly to clients; assess, diagnose, and treat clients with a trauma-informed therapy lens.
Time commitment: support min. 2 clients per year
Requirements: MA or MSc; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Social Workers Provide holistic support and community resources to clients.
Time commitment: support min. 2 clients per year
Requirements: BSW; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Financial Coaches Advise clients on financial matters; teach money management skills and financial literacy; help clients identify their needs and goals.
Time commitment: 4-6 sessions per client
Requirements: BSW; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Parenting Experts Provide parenting strategies to foster healthy parent-child relationships after violence; assess current adult/child dynamics; teach child development milestones, realistic expectations, and more.
Time commitment: 4-6 sessions per client
Requirements: Certified Parenting Coach, MA, MSc, BSW or MSW; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Legal Professionals Educate clients on the Ontario criminal court process, human rights, how to apply for legal aid, referrals to services for victims of crime. Not case-specific.
Time commitment: on-call, occasional
Requirements: LLM, LLB, JD, or law students; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Career Counsellors Work directly with clients to identify their talents and provide career guidance, course selection, resume writing, interview prep; Educate clients on job requirements, salary expectations, and more.
Time commitment: 4-6 sessions per client
Requirements: MA, MSc or OCT; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Life Coaches Work directly with clients to identify and achieve their goals and reach their full potential; provide time management and motivation strategies; build skills for organizing their life and home.
Time commitment:4-6 sessions per client
Requirements: Certified Life Coach, OCT; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Personal Trainers Work directly with clients and/or their children to identify goals, assess ability, and design safe and effective customized fitness programs with built-in accountability.
Time commitment:4-6 sessions per client
Requirements: Certified Personal Trainer; Independently licensed and insured; able to provide a valid certificate of insurance
Nutritionists Work directly with clients and/or their children to assess health needs, develop budget-conscious meal plans, and teach healthy eating habits.
